Our Commitment to Accuracy
At DevotedToDog.com, we publish breed-specific guides for Golden Retrievers, Goldendoodles, and Labrador Retrievers. Every article on this site goes through a structured editorial process designed to ensure the information you read is accurate, current, and safe to follow.
Pet health and behavior content carries real consequences. A feeding mistake can cause developmental problems. Bad training advice can create lifelong behavioral issues. We take that responsibility seriously.
Our Editorial Process
1. Research
Every article begins with a review of peer-reviewed veterinary literature, breed-specific studies, and official guidelines from recognized organizations including:
- American Kennel Club (AKC)
- American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
- American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
- University veterinary programs (UC Davis, Cornell, Tufts, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Colorado State)
- Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA)
We do not cite anonymous forums, unverified social media posts, or content mills as sources. When we reference a statistic or medical claim, we link directly to the source.
2. Writing
Articles are drafted by team members with direct professional experience in the topic area. Training content is written by certified trainers. Health content is written by team members with veterinary backgrounds. This ensures the person writing about a topic has hands-on experience with it.
3. Expert Review
Each article is reviewed by at least one member of our expert panel before publication. Health-related articles are specifically reviewed by team members with clinical veterinary experience. Reviewers verify:
- Medical and nutritional accuracy
- Safety of recommended practices
- Alignment with current veterinary guidelines
- Appropriate breed-specific context
4. Publication and Ongoing Updates
After review, articles are published with clear author attribution and publication dates. We revisit published content regularly to ensure it reflects current veterinary guidelines, updated breed standards, and new research findings. Our most recent site-wide content review was completed in March 2026.
Our Expert Panel
Our content is created and reviewed by a panel of 6 professionals:
- 3 certified dog trainers with a combined 18+ years of professional training experience
- 1 former veterinary technician with clinical care background
- 1 veterinary professional specializing in emergency care and canine nutrition

Full bios and credentials are available on our About page.
What We Don’t Have
We believe in transparency. Our team does not currently include a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Health content is reviewed by team members with direct veterinary care experience, but we are not a veterinary practice. For specific medical concerns, diagnosis, or treatment plans, we always recommend consulting your own licensed veterinarian.
Source Standards
We classify sources into three tiers:
- Tier 1 (Primary): Peer-reviewed veterinary journals, university veterinary programs, government health agencies
- Tier 2 (Authoritative): AKC, AVMA, AAHA, breed clubs, established veterinary reference sites (PetMD, Cornell Veterinary, VCA Hospitals)
- Tier 3 (Supporting): Reputable breed-specific organizations, certified trainer publications, established pet industry data providers
We do not use anonymous sources, undated content, or sources that cannot be independently verified.
